Todd Newton

Mr. Newton is a Lead Engineer at the Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio, TX.  He holds a B.S. degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Oklahoma as well as an M.S. degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at San Antonio.  For over two decades, Mr. Newton has been involved with network-based flight test systems for both commercial and DoD entities performing and overseeing the testing and integration of components within these network-based systems.  He has been heavily involved in the development of the Telemetry Network Standard (TmNS) defined in chapters 21-28 of IRIG 106 as well as the development, integration, and deployment of TmNS-based systems.  He is currently a member of the TSCC serving on the Networking and Protocols Subcommittee.  He was the recipient of the 2008 Lawrence Rauch Award for Standards and has been awarded a US patent for a network routing overlay.
