Course Description
Explores modulation and demodulation techniques currently employed or proposed for telemetry. Material covers the legacy PCM/FM waveform, SOQPSK, Multi-h CPM, as well as a preview of new modulations being developed. Receive-side techniques for these waveforms are also addressed with discussions on trellis demodulation, adaptive equalization, synchronization, LDPC forward error correction, data quality metric (DQM), data quality encapsulation (DQE), best source selection (BSS), and space-time coding (STC).
